FAQs

We want you to feel completely comfortable about flying with Alpha Three Aviation. Take a look below for some frequently asked questions that may provide the background info you’re looking for. Don’t see what you need? Contact us and we’ll be happy to answer any and all questions you have!

What is an air taxi?

The term “air taxi” is used in the private charter marketplace when a small aircraft is hired to make a short regional flight. This service is perfect for a traveler when returning within the same day or day after travel.

Will I be comfortable in the plane?

Absolutely! The King Air seats up to 7 passengers in a pressurized, climate-controlled cabin. It includes club-seating with dual foldaway tray tables, cupholders, window shades and USB ports for device charging.

The Baron seats up to 5 passengers in a spacious, climate-controlled cabin. Club seating ensures comfort and convenience with its large entry doors and fold-out table.

Is there a bathroom on board?

The King Air has a private, belted toilet at the rear of the aircraft. There is no lavatory on the Baron; however, there are facilities at the departure terminal.

How much does this cost and how do I pay for it?

Our pricing is based on flight time and our quotes are customized to your individual flight plan. Costs range between $750 and $1,450 per hour. We require a credit card to be on file and payment is due in full 72 hours prior to your departure. We accept wire transfers and all major credit cards.

How far in advance do I need to make my reservation?

Depending on your destination and aircraft availability, a trip can be arranged in just hours!

How much luggage can I bring?

Both the Baron and King Air have plenty of cargo space and can accommodate moderately sized suitcases, duffles and golf bags. Packing tip: soft-sided suitcases and duffles are best. Please call with questions — we’re happy to help!

Can Fido or Fluffy come with me?

Yes! We love our furry friends and are happy to accommodate them on our flights. All traveling pets will be required to have a travel bag/crate or harness. Talk to us about the safety needs associated with your pet prior to departure day. All appropriate documentation will need to be filed by the passenger for pets traveling internationally.

What about weather delays?

Safety is our number one priority always. That said, our pilot will work with ground crews and the latest weather information to determine the safest course of action if bad weather occurs.

How do I get from the airport to my final destination?

Our team will work with your destination airport to identify ground transportation services available. We can also arrange for these services and others, including hotels, dining and more.

Can I bring my hoverboard?

There are certain goods and materials that are deemed hazardous/dangerous and are, therefore, prohibited from being brought on board our aircraft. Believe it or not, hoverboards are one of them. But the good news is that we won’t limit the amount of shampoo you can bring! Click here for a comprehensive list of what you can and can’t pack.

I know you’re based on the East Coast, but can you fly me to Denver?

Sure, we’ll take you anywhere you want to go! We’re happy to talk through options for longer, multi-leg trips. But let’s be frank here — as a regional operator, pricing and logistics are optimal for trips within a 4-hour (900 miles) flight radius of Pittsburgh.
